Lifehacker has shared a round-up of the best October Prime Day deals on home security gear, but I wanted to call special attention to my own top choice for cheap home security: The Blink Battery Doorbell 2K+ video doorbell. It works great, and it’s at an even better price right now, marked down 55% to $35.99.
Like the name says, the Battery Doorbell is battery-powered, so it installs in minutes, with no need to rewire anything. It sends your phone a crisp, 2K, head-to-toe view of anyone who stops by, even in very low light. The audio is also clear, so you can hear them when they announce, “It’s DoorDash.”
This doorbell includes a Blink Sync Module, a home automation hub that supports up to 10 devices at once and works with Alexa. You’ll also get a free month of Blink’s subscription service for Cloud-based storage, AI text description of motion events, and more. You can still use the device without the subscription, though.
