October Prime Day is officially underway, offering discounts on everything from headphones to fitness tech. One standout that blends those two categories is the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2, now 28% off at $179.95 (originally $249.99). That saves you just over $70, matching the earbuds’ lowest price ever, according to price-tracking tools.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 are a popular choice for gym-goers and runners. The flexible ear hooks are made with a strong nickel-titanium alloy, and are designed to stay put during high-impact movements. They also come with five ear-tip sizes, allowing for a more customizable fit. An IPX4 rating means they’re sweat- and water-resistant, though not meant for swimming or submersion.
Apple’s H2 chip powers these earbuds, including both active noise cancellation to block out sound and Transparency mode to let you hear your surroundings. Powerbeats Pro 2 also include Adaptive EQ and personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. PCMag, which gave the earbuds an “Excellent” rating, calls the sound “bass-forward,” which isn’t surprising for anyone who has used Beats. These earbuds even have a built-in heart-rate monitor, which transmits live workout data to compatible fitness apps and equipment for both Apple and Android users.
Battery life lasts up to 10 hours without ANC and eight hours with it on. The case holds an added 28 hours of charge with ANC on and 35 hours with it off. Plus, a five-minute quick charge provides around 90 minutes of playback. The buds also use tactile buttons instead of touch controls, located on a stem that extends forward from the in-ear module.
While the ear hook design isn’t for everyone, if you’re looking for an alternative to traditional earbuds with powerful noise cancellation and physical controls for both Android and Apple users, the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 are worth considering – especially since they rarely reach this low of a price.
